2015 Summer Internship Program

This summer I had the opportunity to work at the NOAA Alaska Fisheries Science Center, on an atka mackerel population project. Our main focus was to test a custom stereo camera system as a sampling tool for this species. Using this system we were able to collect data regarding species composition, length frequencies and fish density. We were also able to examine fish behavior relative to the camera. These results were then compared to trawl data results.
