JISAO is one of the primary research arms in the area of climate and climate change in ocean and atmospheric sciences at the University of Washington. JISAO unites the resources and strengths of the University of Washington and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and represents the future of atmospheric and oceanographic research in its interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to the pressing environmental issues of our time.
